Self-Care Starts with Your “Everything Shower”

You know the one. The full-on, head-to-toe reset where you deep-condition, double-cleanse, exfoliate, shave, and maybe even toss on a face mask before slipping into the coziest robe you own?

Yeah. That one.

The sacred ritual. The self-care ceremony. The steamy escape that made you feel put together again, like yourself, but glowier.

And then life showed up. Whether you’re dealing with kids, layoffs, aging parents, divorce, the endless to-do lists, hormones, stress or pure exhaustion, suddenly, the Everything Shower turned into a three-minute rinse while someone knocked on the door asking where their socks were.

And that’s okay.

We’ve all been there and let’s be honest, some of us are still there. Dry shampoo’s been doing the heavy lifting, and self-care feels like a luxury we don’t have time for. But at some point, you realize you miss you. Not just the freshly showered version, but the cared-for version.

Lately, I’ve started carving out those moments again. Not every day, but enough to slowly start feeling like me again. So take this as your gentle nudge: you’re allowed to come first sometimes. Start small. Start now.

It’s Not Just a Shower. It’s a Reset.

Reclaiming the Everything Shower isn’t about being fancy. Even if it’s just once a month. Even if you don’t hit every step. Even if your spa soundtrack is interrupted by someone yelling, “Mommmm!”

It still counts.

Because you still count.

My (Revised) Everything Shower Ritual

No pressure. No rules. Just a gentle reset with a few things that help me feel like me again. I’ve been returning to the basics — the products I trust and actually love. They’re affordable, effective, and available on Amazon, so stocking up on your essentials is as easy as a click.

While I’m sharing a few of my go-to shower staples here, some weeks I like to mix it up with extras like a foot scrub, shaving, facial exfoliation, a nourishing face mask, or even dry brushing — depending on what my body (and mood) needs that day.

💛 L’Oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Hair Mask – This literally saved my hair in 2020 after a chemical burn stole all my natural curls. It brought them back. It’s soft, repairing magic in a tub. I’ve linked it here for you!

💧 La Roche-Posay Hyaluronic Acid Serum – Yes, it’s a splurge, but worth it. I’ve tried so many hyaluronic acids and nothing compares. It glides on like butter and makes your skin feel instantly plump and hydrated. And, it smells so fresh! This one’s a game-changer – grab it here.

🌿 Aveeno Body Lotion – A classic. Been using this product line since the ’90s, and now I use it on my kids. Gentle, trustworthy, and never lets me down. Peri-tested, Peri-approved → Grab yours here!

👀 Next up: A scalp massager! I’ve been eyeing this one, but I’d love your recos if you’ve found one you swear by.

Self-care isn’t about being fancy. It’s about feeling like you. The real you. The cared-for you. This is your sign to start again — one product, one shower, one little ritual at a time. 💛

Because the Everything Shower isn’t gone.

She’s just been waiting for the day you remembered: You’re worth the time.
